The loss of these men's lives are a reminder to all Canadians that our armed forces are made up of brave men and women who give their lives so that we can enjoy our freedom in this great nation, that our country blessed by love, diversity and peace. Our deepest condolences to the families of two brave Canadian soldiers, they may be gone but Canada will always remain strong and free.

BEWARE OF BEAR

Sightings of a very large black bear have been reported around town. The RCMP & the District of Stewart would like to remind residents to not put household garbage out for pick-up until AFTER 8:00am on Wednesdays.  If you spot a bear in town, please contact the RCMP at (250) 636-2233.
Thank you for your continued vigilance during these summer months.  Remember:  a garbage bear is a dead bear!
