BEWARE OF BEAR

POSTED: August 25, 2014

Sightings of a very large black bear have been reported around town. The RCMP & the District of Stewart would like to remind residents to not put household garbage out for pick-up until AFTER 8:00am on Wednesdays.  If you spot a bear in town, please contact the RCMP at (250) 636-2233.
Thank you for your continued vigilance during these summer months.  Remember:  a garbage bear is a dead bear!

Mayor Durant attended the UBCM Executive and its sub-committees in Richmond on July 16-18. The annual July meeting marks the Secretariat's report out on a number of year end matters, including adoption of year-end financial statements and adoption of the preliminary budget and work plan for 2014-2015. Executive also reviewed 159 member resolutions submitted for consideration at the 2014 Convention.
