POSTED: January 11, 2021
Please see this important update from the Ministry of Finance regarding applying for the Homeowner Grant in 2021
One Call Now is an automated notification system that sends recorded and transcribed messages using phone, text, email and app group messaging. The District of Stewart mainly uses One Call Now to notify people and provide direction during an emergency event. This service allows every registered number to be reached within minutes.
Click on this link: One Call Now-Registration & Information to access the registration page.
One Call Now is an American company and stores all customer contact information on computer servers in the United States.
Any time your contact information changes, email or stop into the District of Stewart Office to update the One Call Now list. The exception is when opting in/out of text messages: for this see Can I Choose Text Messages in the next section below.
Yes, for cell phone numbers you can opt in to receive text messages instead of a phone call. To opt in to receive text messages from One Call Now, you need to text the code: "Resume" to the number: 937-240-0720. If you choose to opt out of text messages you text the code: "Stop"
You can register up to 6 numbers under a single name.
The District of Stewart’s phone number 250-636-2251 will be displayed when a message is delivered, (unless you have your phone programmed to display this number differently.)
Depending on the situation, a response may be requested from you. This will be in the form of simple questions and you will use the numbers on your phone to respond yes or no.
After the initial message, we will send updates as necessary and also once the emergency has passed.
