District Councillors

Maureen Tarrant

Maureen Tarrant
Councillor

Councillor Tarrant was born and raised in small town Saskatchewan, where her Dad bought grain for the Wheat Pool. After High School she worked at a variety of jobs, none of which she could see herself doing for the rest of her life. Maureen moved from Saskatchewan to Stewart in 1977 searching for an adventure. You could say she found one.

She met her husband here where they raised their 2 sons. Other than a short hiatus in northern Alberta, Stewart was always home and after five years away they could not wait to return.

Maureen is currently semi retired; working casual at the Stewart Health Centre. She has done accounting work for 30 plus years and owned a business with her husband.

Their down time is usually spent fishing on the Portland Canal. When they both retire full time this is where they will spend a majority of their time.
