SAFETY WARNING
Due to the secondary rupture in the Sewer Force Main line at Lift Station # 3, raw sewage did enter public areas and standing water.
Residents are urged to stay away from the affected areas and avoid contact with the contaminated water/area.
AVOID THE AREA SOUTH OF 5TH AVENUE AND EAST OF RAILWAY.
Contaminated water and areas pose a health risk, as exposure can cause serious illness, including gastrointestinal issues, and infection.
Do NOT touch, swim, or let children or pets play in or near affected water, mud, or sewage-contaminated ground.
The District of Stewart is responding and taking remedial actions, with containment efforts underway. The situation is evolving, and updates will continue to be provided as new information becomes available.
