District of Stewart - Wastewater System Repair

UPDATE # 2
District Staff have completed the repair to the secondary rupture of the Sewer Force Main line at Lift Station # 3.
The District would like to thank the Community for their understanding and patience throughout the process of both repairs.
The safety warning issued earlier today regarding the risk to health caused by contaminated water/areas continues, as remediation efforts are still ongoing.
Residents are advised to stay away from the affected areas and avoid contact with the contaminated water/area.
AVOID THE AREA SOUTH OF 5TH AVENUE AND EAST OF RAILWAY.
Contaminated water and area pose a health risk, as exposure can cause serious illness, including gastrointestinal issues and infection. Do not touch, swim, or let children or pets play in or near affected water, mud, or sewage-contaminated ground.
